Know which agent needs you.

A menu bar app for Claude Code. See every agent's ticket, last prompt and current step at a glance.

Every session in one window.

Each agent gets a lane with its last 30 minutes. Orange means it is waiting on you.

The Agentbar dashboard: a sidebar of statuses, tickets and projects, one lane per agent with an activity strip, and an inspector showing a pending permission request with Allow once and Deny.
The dashboard, with the inspector open on an agent that wants to run the integration suite.

Less tab hunting.

Answer from the menu bar

Allow a command once, pick an answer or type a reply. Agentbar checks the prompt is still on screen before it types anything.

Two agents waiting: one asks to run npm run test:integration with Allow once and Deny, the other asks Skeleton rows or a spinner with two answer buttons.

Your last prompt on every row

Reuse a tab after /clear and the row still says what that agent is doing.

Working agents, each showing the last prompt you sent and its current step.

Grouped by ticket

Keys come from the session title, branch or prompt, so two agents on one ticket sit together.

The dashboard grouped by ticket, with two agents under PAY-412.

Three menu bar styles

A mark per agent, a count, or just the icon.

Agent stripAgent strip: the Agentbar mark, one bar per agent and the number 2
CountCount: the Agentbar mark and the number 2 in orange
Icon onlyIcon only: the Agentbar mark in orange

Notifications you can act on

A banner when an agent asks, finishes, goes quiet or runs long.

  • Jump to the tab
  • Allow once
  • Answer a question

How it works

Hooks report

Claude Code hooks record each session as it moves: a prompt, a tool call, a permission request, a finish. Setup adds them to ~/.claude/settings.json next to the hooks you already have.

"PermissionRequest": [
  { "matcher": "*", "hooks": [
    { "type": "command", "command": "~/.agentbar/bin/agentbar-helper hook permission" }
  ] }

A helper watches

A small local helper joins that with your Terminal tabs and session logs (title, branch, last prompt) and sends one update whenever something changes.

Agentbar shows it

The app turns each update into the menu bar mark, the dropdown, the dashboard and notifications. Jumping to an agent focuses its exact Terminal tab.

It all stays on your Mac.

No account, no server, no analytics. Agentbar keeps its state in ~/.agentbar and talks only to Terminal.
